Funding in Indian Startups (November 9-14)

In the previous week, 25 Indian startups raised funding, out of which 20 disclosed their funding amount. Among those startups, Xpressbees raised the highest funding of about $110 million followed by Ather Energy which secured a funding of $35 million. The remaining 5 startups (Lava, iKure, Shilps Sciences, Oki Gaming, and Oga Fit) didn’t disclose their funding amount.

Xpressbees

Xpressbees was founded in September 2015 by Amitava Saha and Supam Maheshwari. The organization offers exhaustive last-mile delivery, reverse logistics, payment collection, drop shipping, vendor management, cross border services, fulfillment services, and tailored software solutions to customers. has raised $110 Mn in Series E funding round led by private equity firms Investcorp, Norwest Venture Partners, and Gaja Capital

Ather Energy

Ather Energy was founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. The startup manufactures the electric bike Ather 450 and the Ather 450X. It has likewise established electric vehicle charging foundation Ather Grid. The organization has declared an online-only purchase model for selling the product with doorstep administration. Ather Energy has raised an investment of $35 Mn in its latest round of Series D funding, led by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal.

Nepra

Mumbai-based retail pharmacy chain Wellness Forever has raised $17 Mn (INR 130 Cr) from Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla and UAE-based Allana Group. The round saw participation from existing investors which include banker and investor Rajiv Dadlani and venture capitalist Sajid Fazalbhoy.

Furlenco

 Founded by Ajith Karimpana in 2011, Furlenco offers a range of curated home furniture experiences, intended to suit the lifestyle necessities of varied audiences that to families and os includes students to families. Bengaluru-based furniture rental startup Furlenco has raised $7 Mn (INR 53 Cr) in fresh debt financing from Rangoli Resorts, Beeline Impex, Aditya Burman, and Crescent Enterprises.

Slice

Bangalore based fintech startup, Slice was founded by Deepak Malhotra and Rajan Bajaj in January 2016. Their main focus is to construct a transparent and less tedious financial platform to upgrade the educational experience for young Indians. Their first product is a slice card that provides consistent credit payments, a top-notch versatile experience, and client support. The startup received $5.2 Mn (INR 39 Cr) in debt funding from multiple financial institutions including Vivriti Capital, Northern Arc Capital, and InCred Financial Services.

WinZO

WinZO, Delhi based gaming platform was founded by Paavan Nanda and Saumya Singh Rathore. The stage offers almost 70+ games including carrom, cricket, bubble shooter, fruit samurai, knife up, memory mania, fantasy league, and random trivia-based inquiries. The startup has announced a $5 Mn (INR 37.50 Cr) fund for the Indian Game Developer ecosystem. Recently, it raised $18 Mn (INR 132.1 Cr) in a Series B funding round led by Makers Fund based in Singapore and New York-based Courtside Ventures.

CityMall

CityMall was founded in 2019 by Angad Kikla and Divij Goyal. The startup is a social e-commerce stage that sells lifestyle and curated items via peer-to-peer referrals on WhatsApp. CityMall has raised $3 Mn in a seed funding round led by Elevation Capital (formerly SAIF Partners). The round also saw participation from Waterbridge Ventures, Arun Tadanki’s private syndicate on LetsVenture.

FrontRow

Founded by Mikhil Raj, Shubhadit Sharma, and Ishaan Preet Singh, FrontRow is a learning stage for creative arts, hobbies, and sports. The stage is expected to be launched in the next few months. The startup has raised $3.2 Mn in a seed funding round led by venture capital firms Lightspeed and Elevation (formerly SAIF Partners), along with Deepika Padukone’s Family Office.

InFeedo

InFeedo is a SaaS-based people predictive investigation organization that is helping 100+ undertakings, for example, GE, Puma, Dunkin Donuts, Kotak, Tata, Airtel, redefine employee engagement. The startup was founded in 2013 by Tanmaya Jain. Gurugram-based employee analytics platform, InFeedo raised $3.2 Mn in its latest funding round, which was led by Bling Capital and its founder Benjamin Ling. CitiBank APAC’s former MD Simon Yoo, OYO’s chief strategy officer Maninder Gulati, SoftBank’s MD for EMEA Munish Varma, Freshworks’ founder Girish Mathrubootham and others.

Uolo

Uolo, an edtech startup was founded in 2014 by Ankur Pandey, Gauri Dikshit, and Ravi Prakash Srivastava. The startup allows students and parents to communicate with each other through an app launched by the organization. Bengaluru-based ed-tech startup Uolo Technologies has raised $2.6 Mn (INR 20 Cr) in a pre-Series A round led by Omidyar Network India and Blume Ventures.

BitClass

BitClass, a Bengaluru-based PaaS (Product-as-a-Service) startup focused on aiding “teacherpreneurs” to set up and develop their free live classes and construct remunerative businesses online. Founded in April 2020 by serial entrepreneur Gunjan Kejriwal and Utsav Tiwary, the startup helps them set up and develop their business online by providing them with all the apparatuses. The stage is intended to permit educators with no specialized information to set up live classes in only a couple minutes and develop their personal brand. BitClass has raised $2 Mn in a seed funding round led by Venture Highway, with the participation from AET Japan, Figure Eight Investments, and Waterbridge Ventures.

Nektar.ai

Singapore-based B2B sales productivity startup Nektar.ai has raised seed funding of $2.15 Mn led by Nexus Venture Partners, with the participation from Insignia Venture Partners, Arka Venture Labs, Better Capital, and Vietnam Investments Group.

Kirana King

Kirana King was founded by Anup Kumar Khandelwal in 2017. Its center mission has been to urge retailers to receive a change of their Kirana stores and to welcome them on a coordinated retail stage. Kirana King essentially centers around standardization, digitization & centralization of the traditional Kirana system. The startup has raised $940K (INR 7 Cr) pre-Series A funding round from Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund (RVFC). It has a grocery retail network of more than 200 stores in Jaipur.

Client Joy

Client Joy was founded in 2013 by Abhishek Doshi, Anupama Panchal, Shashwat Bhatt, and Yash Shah. The startup provides Client Life-Cycle Management Software for Freelancers and Agencies. The software permits Freelancers and Agencies to deal with their customers directly from Leads to Proposals/Contracts to Project Management to Client Support to Invoicing and Revenue acknowledgment. Ahmedabad-based SaaS startup Clientjoy has raised $800K in a pre-Series A funding round from Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL). It will help the company accelerate its sales marketing and engineering to expand its product offerings.

MooFarm

MoooFarm is a data innovation organization that specializes in agTech and utilizations global leadership and mastery in the areas of skills, agribusiness, and technology to drive social change in developing countries such as India. The startup was founded in 2018 by Param Singh and Aashna Singh. Gurugram-based agritech startup MoooFarm has raised $570K (INR 4.3 Cr) in pre-Seed funding round from Rockstart and Navus Ventures.

Rezolve.ai

Founded by Saurabh Kumar, Manish Sharma, and Uday Bhaskar Reddy, Rezolve.ai focuses on the disruption of the IT support market by AI technology providing an end-to-end, automated resolution for L1 employee support. The SaaS-based stage mechanizes all the redundant undertakings in the employee service desk, improving the general assistance of the board by saving more time and effort for complex issues. The startup has raised $500K led by Venture Catalyst, along with several angel investors

Gonuts

Established by serial entrepreneurs Vinamra Pandiya and Mayank Gupta, along with media and entertainment veteran Joji George in March 2020, Gonuts plans to overcome any barrier among superstars and their huge number of fans, and democratize the ability to the Indian and ostracize Indian diaspora. Mumbai-based celebrity commerce platform Gonuts has raised $469K (INR 3.5 Cr) in a seed funding round led by angel investors Sweta Rau and Archana Priyadarshini. 9Unicorns, AngelList, Lets Venture, Mindhouse, and Zomato’s co-founder Pankaj Chadda, LivSpace’s Ramakant Sharma, IIM Indore Alumni Fund, Morde Foods’ Harshal Morde also participated in this round.

Rapawalk

Rapawalk is an online brand that offers a customized administration of making your own shoes. The startup was founded in 2017 by Aravind Madireddy and Kashif Mohammad. Bengaluru-based online footwear brand Rapawalk raised $300K in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV)

Jade Forest

Jade Forest was established by Shuchir Suri and Punweet Singh. The startup professes to observe consistent development at 20% month on month. With five flavors in its product mix, Jade Forest has set up itself over the product categories of low-sugar carbonated waters, soda, and pop. Delhi-based premium beverage and mixers brand Jade Forest raised $250,000 in a seed funding round led by Marquee Angel Investors- Gaurav Kapur, Rohan Abbas, Ashish Tulsian, and AngelList India, among others.
