From the embroidery atelier that designs and creates products for Christian Louboutin, to the Jaipur-based custom stone makers that create and supply to the likes of Peter Marino, these five organizations promise to design and deliver the best material to the customers. Here’s a brief description of the Top 5 Indian Design Companies which design for ateliers around the world:

Frozen Music

Founded by Varun Seth in 1987 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Frozen Music is a dream factory, where the most innovative ideas, motivations, and designs for the decorative pieces of art are transformed into reality. Our customers, regardless of whether for a superyacht, a global HQ, a lavish lodging, a stylish retreat, or just an extraordinary present for the anniversary, originate from that uncommon gathering of individuals who wish to make their dreams come true.  It is a world-class workshop that specializes in making beautiful stone metal, wood artifacts that adds glory to the interiors of your place. “The machines in my workshop are used only to give my craftspeople pre-cut material—this gives them the opportunity to bypass the long and tedious process of preparing materials,” says Seth.

Vastrakala

Home to a portion of the world’s best craftsman, Vastrakala is the main hand-weaving atelier that has the SA8000 affirmation for acceptable practices in the workplace. This Chennai-based embroidery atelier was started by Frenchmen Jean-Francois Lesage and Patrick Savouret, and their Indian partner, Malavika Shivakumar. This bungalow in Chennai is where Lesage coordinates with his 12 creators and 200 gifted artisans. The Frenchman regularly works together with world-renowned interior decorators and planners. From Peter Marino and Robert Couturier to Jacques Grange, Alberto Pinto, and Christian Louboutin, Lesage has worked with individuals from everywhere.

Les Ateliers 2M

Today, the atelier has customers from all over the world, namely Hermès, Azzedine Alaïa, and Stella McCartney. Both gatekeepers and heroes of antiquated Indian craft traditions, Les Ateliers 2M is a key supporter of the world’s best luxurious brands. In 2016, Modesti established the Lucknow Design Trust, a non-profit entity devoted to the acknowledgment of luxury craft excellence in India. It was out of this trust that the Kalhath Institute was conceived in 2017. The training classes organized by this institute focus on improving the skills of the artisans.

Punamchand Ramchandra Suthar (known as Punaram) independently set up Vishwakarma Furniture Works six years ago, which presently employs 30 craftsmen, whom he tutors in both, conventional and advanced carpentry. Vishwakarma Furniture Works emerged as the top manufacturer of Sofa Cum Bed, Box Bed, and the Bunk Bed. The products manufactured by the company are in high demand because of their exceptional quality, consistent completion, different patterns, and reasonable costs.
