Funding in Indian Startups (November 2-7)

In the previous week, 23 Indian startups raised funding, out of which 18 received total funding of $107 million. Among those startups, Ather Energy raised the highest funding of about $35 million followed by WheelsEMI which secured a funding of $14.8 million. The remaining 5 Indian Startups ( GalaxyCard, Traya.health, ChopServe, Mitron Tv, and Lattu Kids  ) didn’t disclose their funding amount.

Ather Energy

The Bangalore-based startup, Ather Energy Private Limited was established by Arun Vinayak, Swapnil Jain, and Tarun Mehta in 2013. The startup is a manufacturer of electric scooters and an electric vehicle charging network called AtherGrid. Ather Energy has raised $35 million (Rs 260 crore) in its Series D funding round led by Sachin Bansal. Existing investor, Hero MotoCorp has picked up preference shares worth Rs 90 crore in the EV maker.

Mobikwik

Mobikwik was founded in 2009 by a couple, Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku. MobiKwik launched an e-wallet framework in 2012 that empowered clients to deposit cash online to use for bill payments and different features. It also offers financial services including loan, accident insurance, life insurance, fire insurance, IMPS money transfer, credit card bill payment, mutual funds, and DTH recharge. Letstransport

Gully Network Retail

Gully Network Retail was founded in 2019 in Bangalore by Ajay Nain. Mumbai based startup, Tamasha.live was founded in July 2020 by Siddharth Swarnkar and Saurabh Gupta. It is an influencer-led live gaming stage where content creators and social media influencers can host live internet games that will have genuine prizes in real prizes for champs at the cost of a small registration fee.  Influencer-led live social gaming platform Tamasha.live has raised $0.33 million from 9Unicorns, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Bansal, and FirstCheque.
