Top Artificial Intelligence Startups in India

Artificial Intelligence startups started emerging in India in the last decade. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have attracted many investments and brought forth many innovations. These technologies are now being used in a myriad of sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, fashion, agriculture, real estate, voice-based solutions, etc.

A recent report estimated that around $87.85M was alone raised in the AI space in India’s startup capital, Bengaluru. This unprecedented growth in the AI sector has helped to create a robust ecosystem for entrepreneurs. Here we’ve made a list of the top artificial intelligence startups in India.

Manthan

Based out of Bangalore, Manthan is an AI-based analytics company founded in 2003. The company’s AI-powered retail analytics platform provides prescriptive and descriptive analytics for users, grow customer engagement, and recommend actions. Manthan caters to 170 customers across 21 countries and provides assistance in marketing, inventory, promotions, and customer strategy. Manthan also owns a Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine called Maya which works as an assistant and can answer sales related questions. Forrester Research named Manthan as a strong performer in its Customer Analytics Solutions Wave Q2 report in 2018.

Sigtuple

Bangalore-based Sigtuple established operations and raised $25 million in 2015. Their focus is on creating medical diagnostic solutions. Their AI-based platform was developed for screening and advanced diagnosis of urine, blood, semen samples, along with retinal scans and X-rays. Sigtuple’s AI algorithms analyse patient samples, then send the sample to a pathologist for review and sent back to the point-of-care in 5 minutes. Sigtuple has also created an automated microscope to make up for the lack of pathologists.

Mad Street Den

Chennai-based Mad Street Den is India’s first AI and Computer Vision startup. The company is trying to bring artificial intelligence into daily life through IoT and connected cars, user engagement & analytics, online fashion, mobile gaming, and social media. Their flagship product is Vue.ai which servers fashion retailers across the world. The company improves customer shopping experience by showcasing relevant products to customers across sites, apps, and stores. Its list of clients includes Voonik, Tata, Zilingo, and Craftsvilla among others. Mad Street Den has also been listed by Bloomberg’s 2017 list of the world’s 50 most promising startups.

Haptik

Founded in 2013 in Mumbai with a funding of $12 million, Haptik develops AI-based chatbots for enterprises, service companies, and consumers. They also provide other services such as a hybrid interface for human-to-AI transitions, drag-and-drop bot builder, and detailed conversation analytics. Haptik has also partnered with Amazon AWS so that it can incorporate AWS’s cloud offering, AI tools, and advanced database framework. The company’s clients include Coca Cola, Amazon Pay, and Samsung.

Flutura

Based out of startup capital, Bangalore, Flutura is an IoT startup. Flutura provides big data analytics solutions in order to transform operational outcomes by monetizing machine data. Their product, Cerebra, provides diagnostics and prognostics to provide business value to engineering and energy customers around the globe. Flutura’s clientele includes Hitachi, Henkel, Sodexo, and GT and it also has partnerships with Bosch, Halliburton, and Siemens. Flutura has been recognised by CIO Review magazine as one of the Top 20 Most Promising Big Data companies in 2015.
